google+ using battery

when i never opened the program. 67% currently with google+ accounting for 9%. Never even created an account. Anyone know what its doing?

It's always been a battery hog that's why i disable it.

Not for me facebook is worst.. and even then it may drain 5 to 7% of my battery when I had it on droid razr

Just disable Google+ if you don't use it. If you use it, there may be a setting to update every so often to give you notifications.

Sync.It tries to sync stuff as well as notifications. Go into accounts and sync, check your Google account and see if sync with G+ is checked, if so uncheck it. Mine tries to sync with a non existent picasa account if I don't uncheck it.
