After JB upgrade, I noticed that searches using the Google search bar were much slower. I eventually was annoyed enough to spend a few minutes investigating, and discovered that it was fixable. Try this: click on Google search bar, then menu button->Settings->phone search, then uncheck everything. After I did that, searches went from 6 seconds to almost instantaneous. Hope this helps someone!
