Hi, I took google maps to a new city (I set it to walking directions) and was hoping it would help me find my way around, but I had some trouble knowing which direction I had to go, relative to the map. It took some trial and error to get my barrings. I readily admit I have a HORRIBLE sense of direction.

I'm pretty sure I'm missing something obvious/doing something really stupid. I was able to figure which direction to go towards when I was next to a street sign, though. Is there something that can add one of those "V" looking things, so I know which way I should be facing relative to the map.

Thank you for your time!

When you're in the Maps application, tap the settings button, tap more, then tap labs. The very last selection is to enable the compass arrow.

This should give you a pretty good idea of which direction you're facing.

In the menu area of Maps is LABS. One of those is the arrow.

Ahh. Thank you all SO much! I'm so happy! Hopefully my days of getting myself lost are at an end.

Gah, there's so many options within options, that I would never find myself. Thank you all for your help here! Love this forum.
