gmail inadvertant shut down

I was trying to send and email today and my gmail app shut down. I have tried to open it. when i try, it will open for about half a second and then shut down. has anyone encountered this situation? does anyone have an idea what can be done to remedy this problem. thank you. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Same problem. I'm usually listening to pandora, and usually make use of the BCC function. Haven't determined whether either of these is required for my Droid-X to crash when I send a gmail.

Update

Update: this has nothing to do with Pandora.

I did a factory reset, and the first thing I did was to send another email from gmail. I made sure to BCC a couple contacts, and on hitting "send", the droid-x reset. That's all I've got so far.

Fixed!

Well, I'm pretty sure I fixed it. I'm not sure whether the factory reset mattered, but the key was probably installing the newer app available from the market over the old one.
