Gmail icon missing with 3.3.1

Downloaded ROM successfully to my D1. Signed in to my gmail account. However, no Gmail icon. How do I get into my gmail account??

You should be able to download and install the gmail app from the market.

That did it. I should have thought of that but the simpler answer is usually the one least thought of, at least on Monday.
