Gingerbreak not rooting

I downloaded 3 different versions of Gingerbreak amd all the same thing"nothing". It stays on the same screen saying rooting and that phone should restart, but never does. I watched a youtube video and when the app first started it mounted and unmounted the sd card mine never did that. So I used a different sd card and the same thing, and I haver usb debugging on as well. Can someone help, tired of paying for hotspot

Give the one click D3 root a shot. You do need a PC to do it so it doesn't have the simplicity of doing it straight from your device but it's definitely the next best thing.

Here's a link to the method I used to root my Gingerbread X2:

Works like a charm. It does require using ADB and running scripts and rebooting about 3 times, but it works.
