You can sbf without a computer. But I think it needs to be in the form of a zip file.

No root yet for stock .596 ota

Just wait a week or two if there isn't a root you can always flash back till there is one

I've never been rooted, although I am interested in rooting this one. I can wait. Apparently, I have alot of reading to do.

You should try rooting its pretty cool. If I were you I'd read into rooting, loading custom ROMs, overclocking and all that. Sure keeps you preoccupied and is pretty fun. I've learned alot about droid.
