Gingerbread on the D2

I googled "swype and gingerbread" and it looks like gingerbread on CM7 and Nexus One has issues too.

anyways i have a questions. i have CWM installed. if i do the OTA update will this erase along with the root or what?

QUESTION;

I have Launcher Pro with a bunch of goodies, should I uninstall it before the OTA arrives? Or, should I let it update then go back and fix what doesn't work?

You'll have to be at stock 2.3.2 to get the update. And if you are at that and you're rooted you will lose root.

Still waiting for someone to check the smilies in Gtalk.

Lights on bottom have gone out again.

My smiles on stalk work fine

And yes I am having that Swype issue too

You sure? Because I can get a smiley, that' not a problem The problem is when I long press on the smileys I can't select one. The moment I take my finger off the smiley that I'm long pressing on they disappear. I can slide over to them, but I can't select anything in the middle rows.

I'd leave the launcher in there and see if it works. Or has somebody already said it doesn't? If they said it doesn't might as well take it off before you update.

ok im confused now so i have to be on 2.3.2 BEFORE the update is pushed?

im on System version 2.4.5 and Android version 2.2 with clockworkmod recovery installed.

Works fiine for me. You have to keep your finger pressed on the screen and move it around till it highlights your selection, then let go
