Getting More Homepages on the Moto Droid

Archrage

New Member
Is there any way to get more than the original three homepages on the Motorola Droid, without using folders? I also thought that 2.1 was going to give everyone 5? Did i hear something wrong?

There was a rumor about 5 home pages with the update but it was only a rumor. The best way to get more home screens is with a free program in the market called Helix. However be careful to get the original Helix and not Helix 2. Helix 2 gives you the 3d app menu but force closes on the original Droid rom and if you put it to default you will be stuck in a force close loop. The original Helix is what you want, it has the original app drawer, 7 home screens, and the option of putting 4 shortcuts down by the drawer slider that are accessible on any of the home screens

Home++ is free also

Home++ is another home replacement that gives you up to 7 screens. If you ONLY want the extra screens but don't want the launcher enhancements that Helix and Home++ provide, the maker of Home++ has another app that only gives additional screens with the stock launcher. All are free in the Android Market.

BTW, I use Helix - love it.

or you can download the new clockworkmod theme for $2 off the market. it is stable, gives you the 3d app drawer and 5 homescreens

..and works exactly like you would expect in Landscape mode.

If you want the 2.1 Launcher you "thought" you were (or should be) getting with the 2.1 update, ClockWorkMod Launcher is the real deal.

I finally feel like I really got the 2.1 update after installing this Launcher :-)

only 3 screens

I downloaded helixlauncher and I'm only getting 3 home screens, I looked in the app door and do see the app. There to see if there are settings I need to change.
Help please.

on your home screen, press the menu button (=) and hit preferences, then there is an option called "number of screens" or "screen number" etc.

change the setting in there

I believe (no guarantee) that the option is somewhat misleadingly titled "Screen Size."

+1 for helix but i'm going to check out this clockworkmod.

I've been a committed GDE user for several months. Its biggest advantage over most (all?) the alternatives was the 360 degree rotation among all homescreens so that you didn't have to go through all the screens to move from #1 to #7.

Have to admit, though, that the double tap in the Helix launcher that enables you to jump from any screen to any other screen is a nice feature. Not sure if I can give up the cube effect eye candy on GDE, but of the various alternatives, Helix Launcher looks like the most competitive.

Huh....no additonal requirements for this?

Nope, download install and use like any Luancher/Home.

This is the REAL deal original 2.1 Launcher with no surprises or hiccups that I can find or force.

5 Screens, 3D app Drawer, "dot" navigation, ALL the 2.1 Standard Wallpapers AND works perfectly even when you open your keyboard.. just as it should (and never has) on our stock Droids.
