Getting a Replacement....

My Droid 3 volume rocker has broken, and I am calling tomorrow to get a replacement.
However, it says it won't ship for a week and a half.

Is it possible for me to get the Bionic as my replacement, for a cheaper price?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say probably not. But, it doesn't hurt to ask.
You're saying you would send in your Droid 3 and pay the difference for the full retail price?
So $589 - $199 (you probably paid for your D3)... you would pay $390.

I'd call them up and try and see what you can work out.

Edited to add: You might as well just get the fixed D3 and then sell it on Ebay/Craigslist, and put that towards a retail Bionic.

I got the Droid 3 for $470 though, full retail.

Maybe I could get the Bionic for 589-470=120?

Yeah if you can sell your D3 for $470 that would work. Warranties are for the same item though, not upgrades.

But im still not sure i would take the Bionic over the D3.

Probably going to have to pay full retail for a Bionic.

The phone is definitely going to be a hot item. Judging by all the hype it's getting, I doubt any workers will pull any strings to have you upgrade to a Bionic at a discounted or contract price because you want to. Now if you wanted an X2 as a replacement, that may be able to happen. As for a phone that just released today, I highly doubt they'll do that for you

You might be able to get 300 for the D3 on ebay. You're selling a used phone that has depreciated... plus the internet will be flooded with phones now that the Bionic is out.
