Must be on a PC running Chrome & on the same network as your Chromecast(s). It wouldn't let me run the scan from my Chrome on my Note 4, connected to my network. If your Chromecast gets its power via USB from your TV, make sure the TV is on so the device is on and connected to your network. This process will interrupt anything you're currently running on your Chromecast.
According to the source article, you can redeem one of the offers available for each Chromecast you own.
You get the choice of 5 different options, mostly free trials or the first X-men movie, but the best one (IMO) is $6 free Google Play Credit to get a "free Valentine's Day movie rental."
