Quickpics hide feature adds "nomedia" file to the folder, hiding it fromt he stock gallery as well

Open up file manager (or similar)
Browse to the app folder that is adding these pictures in the gallery. Add the ".nomedia" file in each folder. You'll have to make a new file named .nomedia from scratch. You can then copy/paste the file in any other folder (even the xxx's the prying eyes don't need to see)

This method works for audio and video also keeping ringtones out of music players.

Basic Android 101 no 3rd party app needed.

File manager can also be used to delete folders.

Whenever I want a new album, I use a File Explorer to create a new folder on the root of the SDcard.
