Just call me candy man!!!
So on the S3, I had the hidden service menu, accessed by going into dialer and typing *#0*# which would automatically access the service menu. ( I also found a picture of a chihuahua when i went through the sensors and image test) but this was all while on ICS. When verizon decided to let me upgrade to jellybean, I can no longer access this menu. This is on a completely stock S3, before I root it and install Backtrack. Model number SCH-I535. Is anyone else having this problem or something similar?
HELLO FRIEND---REMEMBER BEFORE YOU READ BELOW
*REMEMBER8--WITH GREAT POWER/KNOWLEDGE COMES GREAT RESPONSIBILITY!
*************************
(in all seriousness---PLEASE DON'T do anything that which you don't know what the outcome will be).
For the most part, these are "Harmless" *IF*----*IF* you do not actually *FIRM* it.
*#22745927 <-------- *SUPPOSED TO BE * Universal for *ALL CARRIERS* (it's a Samsung S3 Hack/not Carrier specific Hack).
ALSO *SOME* (Based on Carrier)--might have you locked out/thus not *ALL CHOICES* will work with *ALL* phones.
(HOWEVER *MOST* should work).
Also, if you restart your phone, etc. The "Hidden Menu" will default back to disabled. (Thus need to input again).
************************
First type *#22745927 to get to an 'enable/disable hidden menu' screen. Check enable and you're good to go.
---friendly note to help remember (if you are US Citizen)--think of like a SSN#== *#227-45-927# (never forget :biggrin
*#0*#=Services Menu <------This, you should explore first. It's simply a "Test/Diagnostic Menu" (allows no changes).
*VERY ROBUST* way to test your phone--without fear of harming. (Color Tests, Receiver, Vibration, Diming, Senor, Cam, speaker, etc.etc.).
TEASER
---AFTER YOU GO IN (WILL LOOK LIKE GRAPH/TILE BOARD 3X5---CLICK "SENSOR" (dead center of screen).
Let's you see "Accelerometer Settings", "Proximity Sensor", "Barometer Sensor", "Light Senor", "Gyroscope Sensor", "Magnetic Sensor"
(thus most settings are RAPIDLY changing--and you can lift your phone, change position watch it find the "X,Y,Z" access of it. Cool on first look.
----*AGAIN*--you'll see places to INPUT info---I WOULD *NOT* do that--as you can deduce this is probably the most important information the phone needs (where it is in "space"/"sea level",etc.etc. So can provide Accurate GPS, Navigation, etc.
(hit "Back" few times to exit out).
***************
To Input numbers.
(for screens that need it--click "Menu Button"--a choice you'll see is for "INPUT" (thus allows you to type number)--will pause 1-2 seconds then take to that screen.
Also I think (need verify)--Of course you see the Phone/GUI Based Choice for "Factory Reset: (Settings/Back up and Reset/Factory data reset).
*#7780# (Factory Reset)---would be the same (thus keeps Carrier Bloatware on).
*27673855# (Full Factory Reset) )(would be straight from Factory) before Carrier Changes/loads to their specs.
(notE does not have a leading #)----careful if you try (might also erase all the NAM/ETC information ties phone to carrier. Again, you have been warned!
REST FOR YOUR PLEASURE!
