So the memory usage has been way too high for my droid to function properly. Is there anyway to use the froyo version but having the updated components of the later editions like market, mms and so on?

Don't know if market will work with froyo or not. I know you can't get any of the updated MIUI apps on froyo. The MIUI apps depend on the MIUI system which is all GB.

On xda developers there is a modified newmarket that works with froyo. Otherwise I believe your signatures will not match and it will not install. And if you force it to install it force closes
