Our good friends at MDW have informed us that a number of the Droid X devices are locking up during bootload or at the M logo screens. Here are the complete details:

Motorola Droid X Post MR2 OTA Device Lockup.

Last Modified Date: 09-23-2010 ID: 35910

Overview
A small number of devices that were updated over the air to the MR2 software (Version.2.3.15.MB810.Verizon.en.US/BP_C_01.09.07P) locked up at the Motorola Logo or Bootloader Screen after the update completed and the device reset.

Resolution

The vendor is aggressively investigating this issue and is working on developing a recorvery procedure.

Customers should be reminded to ensure that their battery is at least charged to 25% percent prior to starting the update process.

A customer is eligible for a CLNR device provided all other warranty/eligibility requirements are met.

This is my 4th android phone, g1, droid1, droid incredible, now the X. This update has been the biggest circus. Wrecking phones, nobody knows what the difference is between the leaks the and the official OTA beside a different baseband. Having to SBF back to a earlier version. I'm usually one of the first to jump on an update but I decided to wait this time. I'm running the leaked 2.3.15 and think I'll stay here for a while. I don't know, maybe some of the phones are just duds. I sbf'd back to 2.1 stock in order to apply the first leak and since updated to the next leak with no problems. Everything seems to be working for me. I'm tempted to sbf back to stock to do the OTA but I'm going to wait.

I personally contacted Motorola about this issue as well as the Verizon Corporate office. My X had this issue and they sent me a new X. When I got the new X I did the 2.2 update and the issue does not exist on the new one.

PLEASE, if you have this issue let them know. I would recommend calling VZW and Motorola.

Had no issue getting the update on my my X. I updated my phone at 11:00 pm on Tuesday. The only issue I have seen is that once in a while, when I launch an app, usually a game, it takes a few moments to load. That could be the app, and not the OS. Either way though, the OS is quite zippy. I've removed some much hated bloatware after rooting it and all seems good. I'm waiting to see if anyone deodexes it and to see if its worth it. Time will tell.

Good this What Motorola Gets for locking the bootloader THEY PWNED THEMselves What Morons !!!! See what they got HA HA HA HA
