Free space on thunderbolt

I'm new to the thunderbolt coming from a d1 and I was wondering why after a master reset I only have under 3 gigs of space on the phone. I'm not rooted so I can't delete bloatware but I was told it should have 8 gig internal so its using over 5 gigs of space . Is this normal or should a reset the phone again?

That's how much ur supposed to have. It's retarded but just under 3 is actually good. I had 2.4 when it was brand new

what you see is what you get. i think somewhere it was covered but it has to do with how they partitioned the memory or something like that? im not an expert but if i understood it correctly there is 8 gigs but we can only access around 4 of it? i could be wrong like i said im not an expert maybe someone else will chime in or have the link to the thread about internal memory?

Coming from the d1 with almost no internal memory its a huge upgrade I was just wanting to make sure there wasn't something wrong with it
