is there any way to foce my droid to go into cool down (besides actually causing the phone to overheat)

My phone got really hot the other day, went into cool down mode. without knowing i pulled the battery out, and now i cant use the dialer. Appears to be caused by me pulling the battery.

It can be fixed by putting the phone into cool down mode and letting it exit on its own without pulling the battery

but i really dont want to force the phone to overheat again to cause it. I'm not in a hot area anymore so i cant just leave it in my car to overheat (i was on vacation), and i really dont want to reset the phone.

Is there any way to force cool down mode to happen without actually overheating your phone?

Just use an over clock app such as set CPU to under block your phone or setup profiles to base when the phone should cool down

You're rooted and have a custom kernel installed right?

Droid Xs don't have an unlocked bootloader, so you can't use a custom kernel.
