Nougat has been rooted, but everytime Google sends out an update for the Pixel and Pixel XL root is lost, and we have to wait for Chainfire to figure out a new way to root these devices on the new update. The good news is that it looks like Chainfire has figured out a way to keep the Pixel rooted through an update. According to him the developer version of FlashFire is now able to hijack the update process and salvage root through the update! With the Christmas break Chainfire decided not to release the update to FlashFire which allows this new feature, however we should see the update very soon!
