Few GB questions from a noob...

So I factory reset my phone and installed the GB update. I'm loving all the changes so far, but I have a few questions and issues.

First, did they take away the ability to use custom sounds for notifications? I can't seem to make them come up under sound options for when I receive e-mail or texts. Only certain programs are letting them show up.

Second, what are the chances of a root method besides the already-rooted flashing coming around? Someone on another forum said it was unlikely, but I'm hoping not. I really don't want to redo everything again and flash a new version.

You have to go into your text message app and go to setting and you will find it. Same for email and gmail.com.
