How can you add facebook without every friend on facebook ends up in your contacts. I do not want them there. Is there any way to avoid that

Just change the setting on your contacts to only display "Phone Contacts" or "Google Contacts" instead of showing all contact lists (Phone, Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc) at once.

Nice tip, just cleared out ~100 contacts I don't want look at all the time.

If you do not want them in your contacts at all, remove the stock Facebook account and then download Facebook for Android from the market...
