Facebook Contacts

I was wondering how I can update my facebook contacts. I have recently went through and deleted a bunch of friends but all of the people are still listed on my phone. Is there any way to get the contacts to update? It is very annoying having 1000 contacts!! I have narrowed them down online but no change to the phone! Dont get all technical because i will have no idea what your talking about...

In my experience, if you deleted them on facebook, it'll take a few hours before your phone syncs back to facebook. Or a day or two. Idk how to force out to sync
