Mixed reviews around the net on whether one year contracting would still be available, but let's just say it is.

Would you pay the extra $70 or whatever it may be to get the option to upgrade sooner?

I want a one year year, but I'm only eligible for an early upgrade for $20.00. I'd have to wait till july then and not sure if I can. I wonder if I can cancel and start over. My cancellation fee can't be too much. Any ideas how that would work?

Yea seriously, lol. I mean I'm really stoked about this phone, but I don't know if my phone now will make it that far.

I'm in an odd situation where right now, I'm completely eligible for a new phone, but yet, my contract doesn't expire until 5/2/2011.

So I went on the VW site and mocked up getting a new Droid X if I could get it for one year pricing. But the rep said since my contract wasn't up until 5/2/2011, I would HAVE to pay 2 year pricing. Which is cheaper, but it's 2 years....Not to mention, I get a 20% discount off my plan due to my employer.

With all the delays with the TB, I don't think I can keep waiting on it. So a 1 year contract isn't too big a deal for me, if I decide to get a TB in a year. It better be out by then ! lol

i dont suppose i can use my NE2 credit to sign up for a 1 year contract?

That's what I was trying to do. I thought about it, and if I was able to do a 1 year contract now, which is 2 months before my 2 year expires, essentially I would be skipping out on the last 2 months of my original contract. Of course it all comes down to $$.

The rep I spoke to assured me that 1 year contracts, at least for smart phones, will continue to be available in the future. Take that for what it's worth.

By me, right now, it's a $60 difference between the 2 year and 1 year contracts, so not life altering.

Sorry, nope. That's why it's called New Every 2.
Are you sure? You get the credit for keeping it two years, not signing a 2yr contract.

It is not called New to sign up for 2.

Upgrading the phone auto renews your contract. Unless your contract is expired, you can't change it to a 1 year plan.

Maybe it's just me, but my phone renewal expired in Jan. and my contract for my plan expires in May.
