Excluding certain images/folders from Photo Gallery?

Hello, I found this forum wandering through the web when I bought my Droid.

I would like to know if there is a way to exclude certain folders from showing up when you're browsing for photos.

One of the Google Maps editor apps installed a bunch of icons on the SD card, and they show up whenever I'm browsing for any photos. Whether it's adding a wallpaper, or using the Photo Gallery.

I've read that adding a period at the start of the folder may exclude it, but I think that would also end up breaking the Google Map editor.

At the very least, I'd like the Google icons to not show up in the photo gallery.

Yeah, it's me from tivocommunity.

I had the same thing happen to me by trusting "doubletwist" to sync from itunes. I think my situation is worse because I have two nearly identical folders in my Gallery, each with about 1000 thumnails.

Yesterday I started to go at them one by one clicking and choosing delete. The nice part is that in my case the thumbnail disappears from both folders at the same time.

Until someone comes up with a better answer, that's all I got.
