Everything working except for a dark screen

I accidently dropped my Droid about three feet onto the asphalt. Immediately following that trauma, the screen stopped lighting up. The touchscreen still works perfectly and everything else is normal, just a dark screen. If you catch the light just right with it, you can still see the screen contents and navigate fine, it is just VERY dark. Almost as if the screen is working but the light is not. I tried adjusting the screen brightness, and even pulling the battery, to no avail.

The only thing I have not tried is a hard reset. Is there any option beside replacing the phone? This is the second phone, they just replaced it last week due to a malfunctioning touchscreen, hopefully they will replace it more than once? :icon_ cry:

:welcome: to the forum!

Take it back. If you're unlucky you'll have to pay for the insurance to cover it, but they'll replace it.

For the next one, may I suggest some non-slip pads? ;)

Seriously, though, you never know with some phones. Mine's taken some nastier falls than that and still works fine.
