When it comes to wireless charging on Samsung devices I personally can't get enough. Being able to place your phone on a pad to charge without having to fumble around with a cable is pretty awesome. Of course the main complaint with wireless charging is that you still have to set it on a pad which still has to be plugged in.
LG may have just one upped their Samsung rival with an epic new wireless charging technology. According to sources LG has been working on a device that uses magnetic resonance to charge meaning it would be able to charge without touching any charging device. There is a slight drawback though. The tech only works from about 3 inches away. This means that you will still need to place your phone near the charge source.
The device was recently finished according to sources, but LG has not officially decided whether or not they will release it. Other manufactures such as Huawei, Oppo, Meizu and Apple are also working on short distance wireless charging. LG has shown they aren't afraid to take risks. This could be huge for them if they are first to market with the tech.
