Email Inbox Keeps Reloading

Why do my emails in my POP3 account keep reloading each time I open my email even though I deleted them? Also, it only loads 25 emails at a time, does the droid simply overwrite the previous emails or are they taking up space somewhere else?

It's my understanding our droids always have to re-load the email each time you open it, something that boggles the mind of everyone as far as I know...

Mine reloads deleted emails even if the apparently still reloads em sometimes.
