Email deleted from server does not delete on my D4?

I have an odd problem. I have two email accounts set up on my D4. One is an MS Exchange account for work. The other is my personal Yahoo account. The MS Exchange account updates perfectly when I delete an email off of the server on another device. The Yahoo account, however, will not remove emails from the phone that are deleted off of the server on other devices.

for example, I can log onto my yahoo account on my ipad or through Yahoo's website and delete an email. i can check my phone (even days later) and the email is still on my phone. i have tried deleting and reinstalling the account, even manually setting it up (not using the 'Yahoo mail' option on account setup) and nothing changes.

Anyone else have this issue? The phone is not rooted, and has all of the latest OTA updates.

If your Yahoo account is set up using the POP3 protocol, it will not sync deleted messages with the server. That requires using the IMAP protocol instead.
