Eclipse battery jump

I've been looking for a post about this and most seem to just cover general battery drain. I have an issue. While on standby, my battery is just fine, but when I start to use it, there are times that the battery jumps a whole twenty percent out of nowhere. Can anybody please tell me what's going on? My rom is eclipse ICS v1.2.
