Easy way to install new roms.

Ok I have a Droid. I rooted it and installed a custom rom using rom manager. Since then my phone has been causing real problems with my phone. So I redid everything, downgrade, root, all of that. Now I have a rooted Droid with nothing on it. How do I install custom roms with out rom manager. Plz I need the easiest most dummy proof way to do it. Thanks. I really appericate it.

Most roms are in update.zip format, just check if it's for clockwork or sprecovery. Then just install it as a zip for clockwork, or update.zip for sprecovery. Wipe data/cache before installing.
