Recently we shared some of the drama surrounding CarrierIQ, the little bit of pseudo-malware tracking software that has been found on several HTC and Samsung devices. If you are one of the folks that has a device that might have CarrierIQ on it, and are concerned about it, fear not... a developer named, Supercurio, has developed a downloadable app that can help you detect the offending software on your phone. In fact, it's super-easy to use and get. You can find it on the Android Market at the source link below. Enjoy your detective work!

This is my rezound with verizon. This is what popped up in the app I downloaded. Linux kernel dmesg log confidence level: 100 . Look under that heading in the picture there are 3 logs with CIQ in it. Looks like I got CIQ on my verizon phone.?

Does it give options on how to remove it?

According to the developer, the app is hours old and doesn't even have a real icon. I'm sure it'll add more features as they work on it.

It said "Nothing found" on my Bionic, but I don't know how to interpret the numbers.

I have been texting and sending emails and I run the test and I get more logs in dmesg logs with <SDIO_CIQ> stuff

According to the app description:

Results are not reliable yet.

Then its ignorant and stupid to put the app out. So I will delete the app and report it! Thank you for the info I already knew!

Funny since its an unreliable app, its showing the log on my phone.

Just downloaded and checked my Bionic and it detected nothing also ran Carrier IQ Spy with the same result. Guess Big Red is telling the truth on this one.
