E-mail Alerts for Gmail

I use my phone as a "pager" in the sense that I will get e-mail's from work to a gmail account. These e-mails are basically like pages which are something that I need to log onto work and take care of. I get these sometimes in the middle of the night.
What I need is a way that I will be alerted until I read the e-mail. Right now I just get one alert and that sometimes is not good enough to wake me up. Anyone have any idea's?

Not as far as having it go off multiple times, but you could definitely just create or download a super loud and annoying notification ringtone and use that...

 

[B-Unit]

Set a long and annoying mp3 as your notification for gmail. On occasion when I have accidentally set a whole song as a notification/ringtone, it plays the entire song to completion if I dont clear the alert.
