Duplicate Numbers In Phone App

When I open 'People' my wife is listed only 1 time. When I look at my contact list in gmail.com her name is only listed one time. However, when I use the 'Phone App' and click on the icon that looks like a person, she is listed twice. One of them matches her gmail acct, it has her picture. The other is a generic icon. Both list the same mobile number. I've tried removing my gmail account and readding it, and I've tried synching gmail several times, but I cannot remove her duplicate entry. I don't see an option in the Phone App to remove contacts from that list. Anyone know how I get her name to appear onky one time?

Go into one of the duplicates and click menu and then edit. Click menu again and then join. Pick the second duplicate.

That took care of it for me anyway.
