droidx system update

i have a droid x2.2.1 and yesterday all my apps stopped working and a system update started. at 5pm it was still downloading an update but there was no indication of it at the top of the phone. today it still says there is an update downloading 24hrs later. ami going to have to reset my phone?

If it only claims downloading, then pull the battery. As long as it doesn't say installing after a lengthy time. Pull the battery, restart and try again

I installed the update on my droid x yesterday now I cant move or delete factory installed icons on desktop? I even added the settings Icon as an experiment and cant delete it now. If I Long press it I get an "Add from Dock" menu list of icons, no trash can. Help!
