Droidx gb rooting help!!

Hey guys what up.. i have a droidX that i updated to gingerbread about 3 weeks ago.. Android version: 2.3.3 .... System Version:4.5.596

well i want to root it.. i want to root this gingerbread so i can do actual things on my phone.. like USB tether ETC.. i rooted my origanal droid a couple months ago via RSD lite so i have a little experince with RSD lite. i dont want it to be hard. i want it to be easy so i can get this done..i heard the only way you can root this droidX on GB is if you use RSD and you will lose everything.. i just wanna gain root on my phone.. thanks you guys!! i would appreciate a STEP BY STEP instruction on this.. thanks..dancedroid BTW my droid x has never been rooted.. i tried using Z4root,gingerbreakV1.2,easyroot, and universal androot.. and no luck! thanks..

There are no root options for 596 yet. Only if you sbf back down and then use the leaked gb. Sorry youre stuck like the rest of us.

thanks, im kinda nervous about SBFing back to froyo THEN to ROOTED gingerbread.. im sure someone will figure it out ina matter of months..thanks again!

well i want to make a backup first.. but i cant.. i know how via recovery mode but its not working.. this is what i do.. turn off phone. hold power an home button till exlimation.. ( then i was told you press search once but i do and nothing happens) any help.. do i need to be rooted to do so??

The button pattern was changed for gingerbread for stock recovery. I posted the pattern in the thread link in my post above. If your wanting to make back up for unrooted gingerbread there is an sbf file for that also.

yes i want to make a backup of a non rooted version of gingerbread just incase something goes wrong cause im not very good at this.. i think i didn this a long time ago and i dont rememeber.. and so i cant acess recovery text untill im rooted??
( i need a full detail step by step on this SBF file

okay i figured out how to enter text menu.. you turn off phone and hold power+home until ' ! ' sign. then press both volume up and down at the same time once.. and there you go.. but no option to backup/restore.. i should root now.. lol
