Droid X won't boot with battery installed.

Last week my Droid X decided it didn’t want to boot with the battery installed. I was running rooted Froyo. I tried Factory Reset which didn’t help. SBF to rooted 4.5.605 which also did not help. The only way to restart the phone is to remove the battery. Hold the Off/On button for 30 sec. then plug in a charger. Once plugged in to a charger it begins to boot without pressing Off/On button. It boots to an empty battery with a ? mark. I then inset the battery, wait until it shows the battery amount, unplug the charger and it will boot normally by pressing the Off/On button . Runs great once it boots.
