Droid x wifi range issue

Ok. I want to be very clear about my problem. I have no issues connecting to any router. My x will connect to any router, any encription type, any signal (b/g/n or any mix) my issue is I can only use the connection if the phone is literally within ten feet of the router otherwise it wont see the router anymore. This goes for all routers I've had the same outcome on at least 15 different routers. Has anyone else had a range problem? And is there a fix?
