Droid X Froyo Text Messages Order

Does anyone know how the order of SMS messages is handled in 2.2? I can't figure it out? The last one I responded to is at the top but have newer incoming unread messages that are listed beneath it. I also don't see an option to adjust this setting anywhere. If this is SOP for 2.2, then so be it, just gotta get used to it.

same thing for me, thought it was a Handcent thing but it's happening with the default text app as well. i would really like a workaround for this because i text a lot and dont want to have to scroll to reach newer conversations.

Did some testing because im having the same problem. Ive tried a hard reset, because it became annoying lol. Still does the same thing. No rhyme or reason.
