Droid X Droid emoticons

I don't get the little green alien emoticons in texts on my new X. Is there something I have to turn on to get them? I used to get them on my old droid and the same person (with a droid) texts me and they come across as texts? Any help?

The little droid emoticons are on the phone itself (Droid 1)
They reside in /system/framework/framework-res.apk (Droid1)
When somebody sends you a text with the equivalant characters (whether they are on a Droid or any other phone) the Droid replaces the actual characters with the matching emoticon.
It's possible that the Droid X does not have these emoticons anymore.
I'd have to look at the system dump of the Droid X to see if they are there or not.

Just looked at the system dump and those emoticons you are referring to are NOT in there.

Thanks Carlz28. I'm new to the Droid world and appreciate your help. I'm not a rocket scientist so could those be added by a novice or is that potentially in the next release due to the X this month?

Has anyone else noticed that the little green Droid Androids come up when you use Google Talk but not through txt msg? I noticed this today while talking to my GF, it's a little confusing to me.
