this is off this topic well not really but does anyone know of any bootanimations that work with root explorer so i dont have to go through the whole sdk thing...

Not sure what you mean, I have about 25 boot animations and never used sdk for them. Just get the zip, then copy or move it to data/local and make sure its named bootanimation.zip and restart to enjoy your new animation

All boot animations work with Root Explorer. This is how you get the bootanimation.zip file from your sd card to either system/ or data/local folder. Depending on what ROM your using and where its stored.

umm im useing stock rom cause to be honest i dont know how to get other roms... and dont i need to download bootstrap for that??

Ever wanted to replace the motorola m logo when your phone first boots up? I've got nothing better to do so I've decided to offer to make some if anyone is interested. I'll pack it in a handy zip file and all you need is Droid X Bootstrap. You'll just need to install it from zip in clockwork recovery. Very easy. If you want one post a pic of what you want and ill create it. High resolution is best.

could you send me zip with darkslide?? and how to install it?? sorry im like a newb but once i see instructions i can figure them out like that and get it on the first try

You will need Root Explorer, which can be found in the Marketplace for under $5(also the best $5 for your phone you'll spend). Bootanimations, are easy-ish and can be interchanged over and over, with almost whatever you want. Boot logo are also interchanged, but you would need a Recovery system for that, also with the Root.

You might as well Root your phone. Get Bootstrap, and ROM it. Here is a link to a page I made to easily Root and Rom your Droid X to Darkslide, since you wanted it as well, I redid the links on it so it should be good. I suggest it since it's step-by-step for Darkslide and I wrote it. Link is here.

As far as boot logos go, post a pic in this thread and one of us here will get to it, it is a process and takes some time, so be patient please. Yeah it can be anything, as long as it's not foul, or violating this Forums TOS.

Bootlogos can be installed through bootstrap recovery>install from sd>install zip from sd>select bootlogo_filename..zip>yes>reboot

You don't need Darkslide for this.

Darkslide is done the same way

bootstrap recovery>install from sd>install zip from sd>select darkslide v4.2>yes>(it will be a few moments, don't be nervous)>reboot

Keep in mind that when you do this, you previously installed bootanimation will be gone and you will have the DarkSlide one. Just redo the same process to change the bootanimation.zip as you did before and you are all set.

The DarkSlide add-ons folders has a few goodies like the 3G wifi tether and a few others.

Check the Darklside Rom Extras and Options forum for other items such as Gingerbread keyboard, Clear Gmail, Black Market, Black Facebook. Enjoy!
