you can download the zip straight from the forum app to your phone and then use root explorer to move to root of sd card and then install.

There is no need to move it to the root of the SD card, it installs fine from folders, that way you can have different folders for all your zips. I have different folders for boot logos, boot animation, roms, themes, and others that way I can find everything easily instead of having a million zips on the root to sort through

Yeah for mine I have sdcard/downloads/boot image and it works for ROMs its sdcard/ROM/ApeX/themes

You can have it wherever you want as long as it's on the sd card.

And an FYI kush ...out of the hundreds I've made not one has caused reboots. Now when I first started there were a couple that came out upside down or weird in color but its not the logo causing reboots :0P

You can try wiping cache in recovery. If that doesn't work wipe data.

Copy the bootanimation.zip to your sdcard. Open Root Explorer and go to sdcard. Long press on the new bootanimation and copy. Back out one screen and navigate to system/media. Click the R/W button so it reads R/O. Now long press old bootanimation .zip and rename to bootanimation.bak. Now hit paste button and paste new one there. Make sure it reads "bootanimation.zip" exactly. Hit the R/O button so it reads R/W again and exit. Reboot and you should be good.

Now certain ROMs change the build.prop. In this case it will stick it in data/local. Just rename original to bootanimation.zip.bak and paste the other in there.

If you converted the mp4 files to png or jpeg just move those to your part0 folder and set you desc.txt file appropriately according to size of images and frames per second. Then you zip it up with 7zip. So this is what your suppose to have. You make 1 -2 folders, one named part0 and the second if you desire named part1. Then you need the desc.txt file that consists of you image size, your frames per second and how many times it runs part0 and part1.

After the folders have images and desc.txt file is set up you highlight them all you right click, select 7zip and add to archive. Make sure the archive format is set to "zip." And make sure you have compression level set to "store." Name it to what you want then hit ok and it will zip it up.

Have you ever unzipped a bootanimation to see how it works?
