It might not be the most exciting leak surrounding the upcoming Motorola Droid X, but these sample photos taken with the phones 8 megapixel are intriguing nonetheless. Thanks to EXIF data we’ve been able to rule out that these images are a hoax. And that’s a great thing, because anyone who remembers how bad the original Droid was with photos in the early days surely will be beside themselves with joy over these snapshots. Hit the jump to check out another sample.

EXIF data is easy to fake. Many small freeware progs allow u to edit it.

As for the photos, I hope they improved low light performance and the shutter lag. It took forever to take one pic then the next on old droid. Horrible for like candid sport shots or what not.

The Droid X has image stabilization. It says so on the Verizon page.

I am sure this helps the quality of the camera a lot.

Maybe we can get real pictures from this one!!!!

I am very much skeptical. The depth of field in that flower image appears too shallow for an imaging sensor from a cell phone.

I agree, and going up in MP won't make it that spectacular. Now let me shoot RAW, that would be something!
