Droid X Bricked. Really need help.

So I'm not sure whether this has been posted before, but I'm panicking right now. I was trying to install a Dark Gray notification bar on my Froyo Droid X and I spelled something wrong in the command prompt.

Instead of writing "cp /system/services.jar /system/framework" I wrote "cp /system/services.jar /system.framework"

Every time I try to boot the device, it gets to the Red Eye and goes back to the drawing of "Droid". Is there any way to fix this? Thanks in advance.

You may be stuck starting up into recovery and formatting all data and cache. But your far from screwed.

boot it into recovery mode and wipe it. idk how to put a droid x into recovery mode because i have a og droid but im sure you have already done that to root it.

I put it into recovery mode and wiped everything.

And sorry about forgetting to introduce myself to the forums. I'm just panicking. So close to crying. I know, pathetic.

Recovery mode on the X, just hold down the home button and power on, hold button down until the recovery screen comes up.

If you really were bricked, there would be no helping you. Please don't say you're bricked when it takes >30 minutes in rsd to fix. And use search for rsd, do some work yourself. Too many people can't do anything on this forum.....

If formatting everything isnt working...

Then your gonna have to sdf recovery.

This sounds violent and difficult. How would I go about doing this?

Very violent, a little difficult, somewhat pornographic, ok not really.

MyDroidWorld - Droid X SBF file released

Alright, I'll try to do this and get back to you. Thanks in advance, by the way.

I'm sorry I'm new to Android. I don't really know how the phone works, so it's not really a lack of effort to find answers on my part. I thought the point of a forum was to ask for help when help is needed, which in my case is right now.

Trial and error... I've had to sbf maybe 10 times from playing with things... ill tell you though with the options available now you really don't NEED the sdk if you're only romming or theming.... rom manager... ninja morph.... root explorer.... one click roots.... easy as pie

rubiX Focused 1.6 & Modded Black Juice.

Yea sbf is your solution.

You did most of your homework. Its ok to ask questions if you don't know what's up. We were all noobs at some point.

Sent from my stunning rooted droid using tapatalk.

So now I wait while this 245 MB file downloads on my really slow DSL connection. I guess I won't be using a phone tomorrow.

Since I'm being a noob as it is, what exactly could've happened with the misspelling in the command prompt? The fact that I don't know how this happened is bothering me.

mdowns, I didn't know there were any options like that available to me. I thought the only way to apply a darker status bar was through this way...

Aram, thanks for the help.

Oh good lord no.... here's what I do... and YOU can do... I look in the forums at themes I like... find a base to work with... then download OTHER themes you like bits and pieces of... find the framework.apk. and rename it to a .zip and extract... find the drawable hdpi folder and take what you want from there out in a new folder on SD card... use ninjamorph to swap out items... there's a faster way using program called 7 zip but a bit trickier

That's what I used to do when I was still in the iPod Touch modding community. iOS and Android are so different. But I can't go back to iOS after using my Droid.

After I restore my X, i'm gonna try the way I screwed up on just so I can see if it was something wrong I did or with the actual files.
