I have a Verizon Droid X which I have experimented on by installing Cyanogenmod nightlies and also DarkSlide and ApeX.
So far I like ApeX the best, but I have one issue.
Basically, sometimes when the screen is off, I hit the power button to turn it on, and the screen is black (the backlight is on but the whole screen color is black).
Nothing fixed this except a battery pull.
It seems to occur more often if I am doing something resource intensive, for instance when running Titanium Backup full backup.
During the backup, if I turn the screen off, it is unlikely to come back on without a battery pull.
I uninstalled TB to see if that was the cause, but it still happens at other times.
Do you think this is rom-related? It happened a few times with OTA GB and OTA Froyo, but not with this frequency.
