Droid X and 64 Bit Computers??

I have been reading a lot while waiting for my Droid X to arrive, and am seeing that it is NOT compatible with 64 Bit machines!! Is this true? My Sony Vaio and the crappy house Gateway laptop are both 64 Bit, and I don't want to get the X if I can't synch the thing and transfer items. Should I wait for the Droid 2 World phone, or the Samsung Fascinate?? After two endlessly crashing Incredibles, I thought I had made a wise choice, but now I'm not so sure...
Thoughts, please?

Thanks all,I feel better about this then! Actually, I found the "incompatibility issue" discussed in several places, but now I'm wondering it it wasn't just part of the "pre-launch" jitters that precede the release of every new phone... IF only the Verizon techs knew their a$^ from a hole in the ground when asked a direct question, it would be sooo much simpler; WHAT is wrong with saying "I don't know, but I will find out for you", instead of giving out incorrect info as "fact".
Once again, the forums to the rescue!

no problems here using x on 64bit, but i returned that darn thing... got droid2, now waiting for fascinate...

dont ask..

When you plug the DX into a computer after the drivers from Moto's site have been installed, a web page opens on the computer offering a media sync program download. If you try to install this Verizon branded program on 64 bit Windows, it fails with an explaination from the installer that it is not compatible with 64 bit O/S.

Other than that, I've had no issues using my DX with 64 bit Vista Ultimate or Windows 7 Pro. The Motorola Media Link program works fine on these O/S's for syncing media.

Never needed to install drivers on any of my boxes...

Yeah, the Verizon Media Manager crap is not 64-bit compatible, I haven't tried installing it in XP SP3 compatibility mode (which will probably work).

You'll still be able to transfer stuff to it manually (using Windows Explorer) or use DoubleTwist.

Pretty stupid in this day and age to not have a 64-bit compatible app.

Ugh,now rethinking the whole "X" idea again...

Why? The media manager is not needed.....

Ok, then, so having a DroidX/64Bit laptop should not cause me any real difficulty? There is nothing to worry about in advance?! Sorry to be a pain, but I have just had a terrible time with these Incredibles and am hoping to find a phone that actually has all systems working at the same! That shouldn't be asking too much...

I am not that computer savvy and I have windows 7 64-bit and haven't had any problems moving my media into my DX. I went into "my computer" and opened my music files and dragged them into the Droid X. No issue. I think the VZW media manager is sort of like an itunes-type program that you can use to manage your media files. I've not found a need for it. I've also downloaded Mp3s from Amazon MP3 on my DX and also was able to drag them into my music folder on my computer the same way. I also think it's only a matter of time before VZW and other companies catch up with the 64-bit as many computers are being sold as 64 bit. Don't ditch the DX, it's awesome!
