Just as the title says, I downgraded my phone to 2.0.1 to prepare to root it...but im unable to actually root it because my phone wont start in recovery mode. I've held down X while starting the phone over and over again, but all i get is the motorola 'M' stuck on a loop.

Can anyone tell my why this is? or give me another way of starting in recovery mode? Again, i have not rooted yet.

Thanks

Pretty sure u gotta flash a recovery. Get ROM manager from market and flash recovery. Then u can flash ROMS from ROM manager.

You have to root first or RMgr won't work.

Tallica, i followed every single instruction and still cant get past the same part.

Everything goes smoothly until I have to go into recovery mode, and my phone just loops over and over again on the Motorola "M"...i just cant figure out the problem..i did your tutorial 3 times over..still nothin :/
