Droid RZR running Slow!! VZW says its NQ Guard??

From day one I thought my phone was kind of slow. I took it back to VZW store, the lady told me she has noticed this with phones running the NQ guard? Is this true? I have a friend that has same phone without NQ and its lighting fast!! Please help. I'm a complete newbie with this! Any help would be great! thanks

The NQ mobile Guard Security that VZW store talk me into getting. Anti-virus, internet protection, network manager, anti-theft, etc. ? Am I the only one they suckered into getting it haha. I don't know of anyone else that has it.

You don't need an app for any of those things, android is smart enough to handle all of those problems on its own. The app may be causing a conflict with android and that is why you're losing speed.

Here is a link to what they put on my phone? I thought it had some sort of connection with VZW, but from what i'm reading it has nothing to do with VZW. So basically I could uninstall this and try it? So its not necessary to have any security on the android? Thanks

Its in the Play Store. Read some of the reviews. VZ is money hungry. They'll try to get you to buy a lot of useless apps. Sorry but my guess is the app is the problem. Uninstall it and watch how much faster the phone goes..

Yes you can uninstall it. As long as you steer clear of nefarious sites you should be fine with no anti whatever on your device. There are reported cases of malware and such but they usually come from untrustworthy sites. If you see an app store you've never heard of go ahead and ask the gurus here. They'll let you know if it's trustworthy or not.

LOL.... sometimes its not the viruses and adware that hijack and slow our phones down, its the apps we use to prevent them. Such an irony...
