Droid into tub, disassembled, dried, reassembled, cannot get out of safe mode!

Hi there!

So...long story short: I dropped my phone in the tub, freaked out, did the bag of rice thing, still didn't boot up, messed with it a little more and because I am a total noob to this phone I managed to sever the battery connection cable. Bought a new one along with all the proper tools, got it all put back together. My phone works!! In safe mode! And, the volume down button is completely dead. I attempted to disassemble and reassemble it several more times to correct this to no avail! So...when I get the boot screen with the options I cannot go DOWN to reset.

Is there anything else I can do to reset this phone that does not include use of the volume down button?

Thanks in advance! Christina!
