Droid Forums? Nexus One?

Why does the Droid Forums post a "Join Now" banner showing two Nexus One's surrounding a Droid? Isn't this a Droid forum? It like you're saying "Droid is great, but check out these Nexus Ones!"

Also, you're sporting banner ads of a superior phone (the Nexus One) and Droid's competition, HTC HD2. Why would I buy a Droid, go to the forums and want to see or be expected to check out or purchase my new phone's competition?! This is a Droid forum, not an Android forum! Why not post advertisements for Droid stuff?!

because the bottom line is that the blood inside our motorola droid's pumps android through and through....the android os in the nexus, desire, devour, etc.... are all relatives and are welcome in the forum.

So talk about the Droid. I believe it has been posted above we can not bash each other but come on now. Does it really matter at the end of the day? After all it is just a PHONE.

Ok this is a Droid forum but it also has sections for other phones. It is basically a Android community with an emphasis on the Droid. We also have a lot of Milestone owners on this board. The owner of this forum owns many different forums including Nexus One forums and others. What ads he displays on his forums is his choice. If they bother you that much then just don't look at them. A lot of us are interested in learning about tons of different phones not just the Droid.

The majority of the forums is about the droid but there are other sections. All android phones are welcome on these forums but there is mostly info for the Droid and Milestone.

How exactly do the banners impact your ability to discuss the Droid? There seem to be plenty of active threads despite this "issue".

You're going to have a lot of problems with a lot of discussion forum sites if you are having problems here. Most forum sites I run into run ads that aren't all directly related to (and in many cases, in competition with) the item being discussed. I know that's not exactly the same as the "Join Now" banner but still...

...and, as stated above, it's not a Droid-only forum. Ever notice the Devour, Eris, Incredible, Passion, Backflip and N1 subforums? The Android, Android Roms, Android App Developers and Android Smart Phones subforums?

then talk about droids. its really not your business. its obviosuly a smart move advertise more google/android branded phones on this forum. not only do droid owners have an interest in other phones, but people come here to read up on the android OS. if it bothers you so much, make your own forum. and i sense a little buyers remorse, maybe you should deal with whatever it is thats REALLY bothering you before attacking the forum

We should discuss all devices as even though the Droid is an amazing phone, there are other Android powered devices that people like discussing too
