Droid earpiece not working

Hi all.

I have the original Droid.
All of the sudden, this morning, the earpiece stopped working.
I make a call and the bluetooth works, the speaker works, the earpiece does not, nor does the mic.
I called my home telephone and could hear nothing in the earpiece and nothing from the mic in the Droid, and there was wicked feedback on the Droid when talking into it's speakerphone.

I rebooted.
I took the battery out and booted.
I force closed any possible offending apps.

Methinks it's time to call Verizon.

Anyone know anything about this?

Might as well try a factory reset. Verizon will make you do one when you call anyways (that's their solution to everything).

Did it.
Fixed it!
Now I have to find a better backup app.
Backup Pro backed up most things but the only data that it backs up is the common stuff like sms messages etc.
It doesn't back up Color Note notes or K9 mail email (though the latter can probably be stored on the card) or history in Blood Pressure Monitor. Not sure yet what else I lost.
Good education though.
