Audio problem

Plugged audio cable in to car speakers. Music player worked like a champ. Was put pleasantly surprised to get phone service through speakers as well. However now I can't get phone calls through the normal earpiece. I have to use speakerphone. It's as though the phone audio is still trying to go through the audio jack. Any tips? Of can't derm to turn of the music player.Could that be the problem?
